'World Family Day' is celebrated on 15th May every year. It is also observed as the 'International Day of Families'. This day is held annually and it is a global observance. This day was founded by the United Nations General Assembly in 1993.
The World Family Day celebrates the importance of families. On this day, get together with family brings happiness in all the members of the family. Events like workshops, seminars and exhibitions are organized at all levels on this day. 
Many countries announce some family welfare scheme on World Family Day. The theme for International Day of Families for 2013 is Advancing Social Integration and Intergenerational Solidarity.
