'World Water Day' is celebrated on 22nd of March every year. On 22 March 1993 the United Nations General Assembly declared 22 March as World Day for Water. The international observance of this Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro.
Water is life. Every year on March 22, the UN conducts seminars/ conferences and camps at various levels in various countries to create awareness about the paucity of water. It conducts seminars/ conferences at various techniques about saving and using water judiciously are also taught and demonstrated.
